Enlaces America Workshops
Migratory Patterns in the Hemisphere (of the Americas)
Workshop presenters will look at and compare perspectives on the characteristics
of current human migratory flows within the hemisphere and discuss the
inadequacy of the current legal system in managing those flows. We will
also explore and take a look at the political and legislative systems
in the United States and their influence on other parts of the world/hemisphere.
Poverty, Migration, Remittances, and Development
Latin American immigrant leaders will explore the interconnectedness
of these themes and discuss on how the growing migrant population can
play a larger role in the formulation and implementation of alternative
social and economic policies that provide hope and a better way of life
for people in the Americas.
Latin American Migrants and Global Citizenship Practices
Leaders from various Latin America Immigrant-led Organizations in the
United States will reflect on their own experiences, bringing to light
the efforts and role of Latin American immigrants in affecting the political
and electoral processes in their countries of origin.
