October 26-27, 2007: In collaboration with NALACC, Enlaces served as the local host and convener of the Dialogue on Transnational Activism--"Latin American Migrants: Civic and Political Participation in a Binational Context," sponsored by the Mexico Institute of the Wilson Center for International Scholars.

May 10-13, 2007: First Latin American Community Migrant Summit (Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico). Enlaces América was honored to serve as the Secretariat for this groundbreaking international event, which brought together 1000 individuals and organizations representing over 30 countries. The results of the Migrant Summit are available at www.migrantsummit.org along with photos from the event.

January 24-29 2006: World Social Forum (Caracas, Venzuela): We are excited to inform you that we sent our largest delegation ever of Latin American and Caribbean migrant leaders to participate in and present workshops at the World Social Forum and the II Jornada Hemisferico sobre Politicas Migratorios in Caracas, Venezuela, January 24-29, 2005 . We are especially pleased to announce that in addition to the 14 immigrant leaders representing Latin American and Caribbean communities throughout the U.S., we secured support to bring an additional 10 Latin American migrant leaders residing in countries outside of the United States. click here to read about our workshops.

November 9, 2004: More than seventy-five community based organizations led by Latin American and Caribbean Immigrants came from 14 states around the country gather in Los Angeles for the first formal meeting of the recently formed National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities (NALACC). Call to improve migration policies across the hemisphere.

Central American Immigrants calls for CAFTA Moratorium
October 13, 2003: Central American Immigrant Community Leaders from around the country arrive in Houston today to demand that governmental representatives meeting for the VIII round of U.S.- Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) talks put an immediate moratorium on the CAFTA negotiations process. September 2, 2003: "The Sixth Section," a P.O.V. documentary, captures the dynamic story of cross-border organizing through "Grupo Unión," a small band of Mexican immigrants in upstate New York devoted to raising money to rebuild their hometown, premieres on PBS.
